3 Girl JAM Guest Designer: Anything Goes Challenge

Wow it's been awhile since I last posted, it's been bitter sweet to stop blogging. I don't have the motivation to craft but I have more time to focus on more important things. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It was quiet around here alot of people were sick and unable to make it or couldn't get time off work to come from out of town. I have the time off work until the 2nd of January which is a nice break from all the kids (although my daughter keeps asking when they are coming back). Like I said in my last post I have 2 Guest Designer spots that I had already promised to do before I made the decision to stop blogging so today is the first of those posts. It's a Guest Designer for 3 Girl JAM Challenge Blog . They have a challenge going on "Anything Goes". I decided to create a centre step card and used two colours of the beautiful crinkle ribbon that Julie and her daughter's sell, Baby Blue and Ice Blue.

What I Used:

3 Girl JAM: Baby Boy & Ice Blue Crinkle Ribbon
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : January Carnations & Bethany's Birthday Wishes
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spectrum Noir: TB1 & TB2
Bic Mark It Markers: Green
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Baby's Breath
Spellbinders Nestabilites: Big Scalloped Ovals (SM)
Martha Stewart Border Punch: Lace Doily
Pop Dots
Button
Needle and thread

I had never made this type of flower out of the ribbon but it was very easy. You just weave the needle and thread through the bottom of the ribbon and pull it tight to form the flower, stitch the two ends together, glue a button to the centre and there you go! In January I have another non card project that I have made using this type of flower for my second Guest Designer spot. Head on over to 3 Girl JAM Challenge Blog and join in the fun!

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!

A Sad Good Bye

Good Morning! This is a hard post for me to write as I have had a great 3 years but I am sad to say I have made the tough decision to stop blogging. It has taken up alot of my time lately, time that should be spent with my daughter and working on my relationship with God. I still have two more posts one on Dec. 28th and one in January as I have been asked to be Guest Designers before I made this decision and I already have the projects done. I will be stopping cold turkey, meaning I will not post or visit other blogs as I know if I were to continue visiting blogs I would be temped to start blogging again, I just feel that this is the time for me and I can't keep putting it off. Thank you to all of you who have continued to support me and follow me, thank you to all the wonderful friends I have made, I hope that our friendship can continue via email or facebook!!

Good Bye!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: Matt.2:10-11

Good Morning! Last work day of the week and thank goodness, it has been a busy week with a full house of kids and no outdoor time with it being way to cold outside. I am so sad to say that Stampin' Sisters in Christ has decided that this will be their last challenge this week. I have really enjoyed playing along with their challenges so I am going to miss it. The challenge this week comes from Matthew 2:10-11

"They rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And... presented gifts to Him."

Make A Christmas card

With Christmas just around the corner this was an easy challenge. I love Christmas even though it is a hard time of the year, loved ones that can't be with us.  I wanted my card to show the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it.

What I Used:
C.C Designs: Swiss Pixie Baby Jesus & Angel
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It Markers
Spectrum Noir Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Seven
Stickles: Star Dust & Golden Rod
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Candy Cane Strips
Glitter Ribbon

I have yet to put a sentiment inside but I will probably print out something off my computer. I love this image and have one more copy of it for now as I stamped it at the crop a month ago. Well I really hope you join in this last challenge you have until Saturday Dec 1 at 11:59p.m.

Have A Wonderful Weekend!

God Bless!

Clearly iStamp Challenge

Good morning! Half way through the week and I am tired! We have had a 5 month old baby all week as her mom is unpacking their house, they were finally able to move into it! I forgot what it was like to have a baby in the house. Anyways Clearly iStamp has another challenge going on, it's theme is "Clean and Simple".

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps : Charlie Snowhorse
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spectrum Noir Marker
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Classic Scalloped Rectangles (LG)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Not sure again as it was done at crop

This is was a very simple card to make and not alot going on, the embossing gives it just the right amount of detail so that it isn't too plain!!

Challenge ends on December 6th at midnight.

Have a Great Day!

God Bless!

3 Girl JAM Challenge

Good morning!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent Saturday preparing Christmas crafts for the daycare kids and Sunday babysitting my neighbors two little girls. 3 Girl JAM has another challenge going on the theme is Thanksgiving/ colour challenge with ribbon. Since we Canadians already had our Thanksgiving back in October I thought I would make a thank you card using the colours and ribbon, after all the reason we celebrate Thanksgiving is to show how thankful we are.

What I Used:
3 Girl JAM : Crinkle Ribbon Sunflower
Heidi Grace Stamps: Girlfriends
My Creative Time : Just Simply Live
Memento Ink: Rhubarb Stalk
Dollar Store Ink: Yellow
Martha Stewart Border Punch: Traditional Scallop
Martha Stewart Score Board
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: no idea what it is called, did the embossing at crop.
Pop Dots

I saw this technique on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. I took a 3x3 piece of white cardstock and scored it at 1" and 2" then turned it once and scored it again at 1" and 2". I then stamped my flower images to give it kind of a grid look. I then stamped another flower and cut it out and popped it up using pop dots on the stamped background.

Challenge ends on December 6th.

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Psalm 127: 3

Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving to my American Friends! It’s another challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ. The scripture for this challenge is:
“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him” Psalm 127:3
Challenge: Create a card for a child

I believe that every child has a purpose, whether they are conceived out of love, a one night stand or even the worse of situations rape. I will never forget the day I found I was pregnant, I had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance doubled over in pain and faint from throwing up (I had thought all week I had the flu). They ran some blood work and came back and told me I was pregnant but they needed to do an ultrasound because they thought it may be a tubal pregnancy. I was so scared not only was I pregnant (which was not planned by the way) but it could be tubal. After what seemed like a life time they finally told me everything was ok. I remember thinking “God why me, why are you trusting me with this precious life”, my marriage was a mess and I didn’t want to bring another life into it. Don’t get me wrong I wanted kids just not in my situation. One day I was sitting on my bed with pain in my side thinking that something was wrong with the baby, I started praying and my response was “Abraham and Isaac”. Abraham had finally become a father and God asked him to sacrifice his son and Abraham obeyed, he took his son up to a mountain gathered all his stuff to make the sacrifice, tied his son up and placed him on the alter, was just about to kill him when an angel of the Lord stopped him saying “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Genesis 22:12. At first I was confused why would God show me this, then I realized God wanted me to trust Him. Trust Him I have, everyday I pray over my precious daughter that nothing or no one will harm her and that God’s hands will be around her. Being a single mom isn’t easy but it is the best thing I could have done for my daughter. Being raised in an abusive environment is no place for a child. I know I am not alone in raising my daughter, I have my parents but more importantly my daughter has the best Father, her Heavenly Father.

My card has nothing to do with what I just shared, I just created a card for my stash for a little boy as I don't have too many of those floating around.

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Billy Blasts Off
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spectrum Noir
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Seven
Distress Ink: Faded Jeans
Studio G Stamp: dots
EK Success Corner Rounder:
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Seeing Spots

The challenge ends on Saturday at 11:59p.m.

Have A Great Thanksgiving!

God Bless!

Surgery

Good Afternoon!! Just wanted to pop in while my baby was sleeping instead of tomorrow to let you all know how my daughter's surgery went. I got a phone call yesterday saying that I needed to be at the hospital 30 minutes earlier then they had originally told me. It is a 45 minute drive so we had to leave at 6:15a.m. I woke Sierra up at 6a.m ( 1 1/2 hours earlier then she normally would get up). Got to the hospital at 7a.m ( 30 minutes too early). 7:30a.m went and talked to a nurse and filled out some paper work while they checked Sierra over. Went and sat in a waiting room until 9a.m when the anesthesiologist came and talked to me and took Sierra away. 9:25 the doctor came and told me everything went well. About 9:40 the nurse came and got me, she said that my daughter was a little sweetie. I asked if she cried or freaked out and she said "O no, she kissed her dolphin when she woke up, sat up and said "I'm fine I don't need anyone". What a big brave girl, I found her sitting in the bed eating a Popsicle and smiling away. She showed me her stuffed dolphin which had a "sleeping mask" on it, she got to take it home. We left the hospital at 10:05a.m and got home at 11a.m (we had two stops on the way). She is doing fine, ate a big lunch since she wasn't able to eat anything before her surgery. She just woke up from her nap (yes she is 4 and still naps, about 1- 1 1/2 hours, if she doesn't she is a bear). Actually she just fell back to sleep on my shoulder LOL! Well I better go.

Have A Great Night!

God Bless!

Just the Scraps

Good Morning! As you are reading this I am probably on my way to the hospital for my daughter's surgery, I will post Thursday to let you all know how everything went. I wanted to show you a card I made awhile back but had yet to post it. It is made out of all scraps, things that had either been cut and just put into my scrap bin or pieces of paper that had been left over from making a card and put into my colour coded file folders.

What I Used:
Heidi Grace Stamps: Girlfriend
Memento Ink: Lilac Poses
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Blossom Four
Rosette: My friend AMY: Scrap This, Save That cut them out for me and sent them to me.
Button

Ok so the spellbinders die cut were ones I had cut out and used the negatives on cards so I had them left over. The corner pieces were a square piece from my scraps that I cut in half. The rosette I had put together and hadn't found a card to put it on yet. The button was from my stash, the only thing I had to do was stamp the sentiment!

Well I hope you have a great day and please keep me and my daughter in prayer, surgery is at 9:15a.m!!

God Bless!

Christmas Minis

Good morning! This weekend I didn't get very much crafting done (I made one card for a challenge that I will post on Friday). Instead I spent Saturday shopping and then putting my daughter's new bed together (well new to her I bought it off Kijiji our local online classified ads for $50 plus $150 for a new mattress plus $18 for sheets and a new pillow at $5 for a total of $223 not bad) It's a captains bed with a bookshelf headboard and two drawers and two cupboards. I had to sell my dresser to make room for the bed as it is much bigger then her toddler bed she had, thank goodness it has the storage space so I was able to put my clothes in it. Now just to sell her old bed!! Anyways I have some mini Christmas cards that I made a few weeks ago, I made 3 of each for a total of 6.

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps : Year Round Bitties
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : Primitive Christmas (sentiment)
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black/Cottage Ivy/Rhubarb Stalk
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Spellbinders Shapeabilities: Flower Creations Three
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders: Snowflakes/Candy Cane Strips
Stickles:Diamond

These cards measure at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4, I was able to cut 3 cards out of one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock. I wanted them to have the same design but different elements. I will probably be using these for the daycare mom's presents.

I will be posting a card on Wednesday but it will be a scheduled post as I will be leaving before 7a.m for the hospital for my daughter's surgery. Please keep us in prayer (she has had the surgery 3 other times but she is now older and more aware of what is going on plus it is a different hospital same doctor). For those of you who had read my post about what is going on my daughter has to have her 4th set of tubes placed in her ears, praying this set works as everytime she gets an ear infection she looses hearing!!

Have a Great Day!

God Bless!

Scrappin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: Psalm 147:3

Good Morning! Finally Friday. Last night I went to church where they were showing a movie called Hardflip, it was a really good movie that goes along with the rest of my post. I actually wrote this post a few days ago and just finding time to type it up now, I don't believe in coincidences so I know that the movie and this post go hand in hand. I recommend that you find away to watch it (I don't believe that it is in theatres but there is always a way to watch it).  Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge going on this week. The scripture for it is:

“ He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Challenge: Use something “broken and put back together” on your card or project

At first I was stumped with this and then the first thing that came to me was humpty dumpty lol. I really wanted to use the scripture for my card so I went with a heart.  We have all had our hearts broken at least once in our lives, whether it was from a death of a loved one, divorce, being cheated on, being abused, lied to. 4/5 is normally a good thing but in this case it’s a bad thing, the only thing I haven’t had happen to me was being cheated on. Please don’t feel bad for me, all these things have made me who I am today and I think the only thing I would change is the death of a loved one. It’s what we do with our broken heart that makes the difference. Some people turn to alcohol, drugs, sex or another person all of these to try and fill a void, numb the pain or to feel good again, but they are all just quick fixes ones that don’t last or make you feel worse then you did before. The only one who can truly fix a broken heart is God. Without him I don’t even want to think about what or who I would have turned to after I left my abuse marriage.

I searched online for the biblical meaning behind this scripture and came across a very good read on it. Click on the link HERE to read it, it’s very eye opening and explains things much better than I ever could.

So here is my card:

What I Used:
K Andrew Design: I Heart You! (all sets are 60% off now)
Clear Dollar Stamps: Year Round Bitties (all sets are 60% off this month)
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black/ Rhubarb Stalk
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Classic Scalloped Rectangles (LG)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: not sure what it's called I used it at crop
Typed up Scripture
JillyBean Soup Twine

Challenge ends on Saturday November 17th at 11:59p.m so still have a little time to end the challenge.

Have a Great Weekend!

God Bless!

I decided to make a baby card. A lady we babysit for is having a baby in 3 weeks more or less (I am sure she is hoping less), not sure what she is having so she may get this card or I will have to make her another one (it's kind of boyish).

Stampin' Sisters in Christ 3rd Challenge Card

Good Morning! Today is my last card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge and then Sunday a new one starts lol! You can click on the link above to see the scripture but the challenge is "thankfulness"

 What I Used:
 Heidi Grace: Only Time
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : Your Friendship (Sentiment)
 Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
 Distress Crackle Paint: Peeled Paint
Distress Ink: Frayed Burlap & Aged Mahogany
 Spellbinders Nestabilities: Blossom Four
 Ek Success Corner Rounder
3 Girl JAM : Crinkle Ribbon Harvest Orange

I started with the crackle paint (I bought it for $2 at Michaels) let it dry over night and then added the distress ink. I decided to cut out a shape and was going to use that shape but thought that the negative would be better (the shape is put away for another card). This is a different style of card for me but I thought I would go outside my comfort zone.

I have already started making cards for more challenges that will be posted next week.

Have A Great Day!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ 2nd Challenge Card

Good Morning. I had such a fun time at the crop last night! My mom's friend (also the crop ladies friend) came and we did alot of talking but I was on a mission to get stuff done. I was able to stamp 7 sheets of cute little stamps, emboss about 15 pieces of card stock for cards and cut out some Christmas ornaments for a scrapbook page. I will be busy colouring for awhile!! Today I want to show you the 2nd card I made for Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge. you can read the scripture and see the first card HERE.

What I Used:
Crafter's Companion Popcorn Bear : Someone Special
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It
Sizzix Embossing Folder: Retro Circles by Tim Holtz
EK Success Corner Rounder

This was my first time using these cute little images (ok not so little). I decided to go with a gate fold card to mix things up a bit. It still measures the same as a A2 card. I fussy cut the bear and the duck because honestly when I stamped the image, black from the edge of the stamp got onto the cardstock. I don't own a block big enough for the bear stamp so I had to use an "A" plate from my cuttlebug! I love how it turned out!! I have a few more stamps from them to colour in thanks to the crop and I plan on ordering more!!

Tomorrow I have another card for 2 more challenges and then Friday I will have my final card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge.

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!

What I Used:

Sun Shine Award

Good Afternoon!! Last week I was awarded the Sunshine Award from a very sweet friend Naomi over at Creative Bug on the Loose.  Thank you so much Naomi you are such a talented and kind person!!

The rules are simple:

1. Include award logo in the blog post
2.Thank the blogger who gave it to you and have a link back to their blog
3.Answer 10 questions about yourself that have made up yourself
4.Nominate 10-12 bloggers and contact them through their blog to let them know

Questions:

1.One electronic that you couldn't live without?

Besides the obvious, my computer, I wouldn't beable to function without my cellphone. You are probably thinking I use it to text, bbm and talk while all that is true the reason I couldn't live without it is because it is my memory. Everything I have to do for the day, week, month is on that phone and set reminders. I have such a bad memory that I could go down stairs to get something and forget what it was I was looking for when I get there (no I don't have Alzheimer's I am too young for that!?!?)

2. What's your Favourite Crafting tool?

Cuttlebug. I use it to emboss, die cut, flatten bottlecaps without it my cards would look flat and boring.

3. When do you do the most crafting? Morning, afternoon or night?

Well a little of all, morning when my daughter is still sleeping, afternoon when all the daycare kids are sleeping and at night when my daughter is in bed. Sense a patterned everybody is sleeping but me. I do sleep don't worry.

4. Favourite Colour?

Green but I don't seem to use it alot when crafting, weird!!

5. Other then crafting what hobbies to you have?

Couponing. If I don't have a coupon for a certain product I check online for one. I never pay full price for anything including clothes. If you look at my closet and my daughter's closet they all have sale stickers on them. I try to buy for the next season while they are on sale. For example when they put there winter clothes on sale I will buy clothes for the following winter for my daughter always buying a size or two bigger then she is in now.

6. One thing you may not know about me?

I am a procrastinator. All though I am getting better I am constantly putting things off and saying I will get to that later, but as I mentioned my memory isn't the greatest so I usually never get to it later.

7. Why did I start blogging?

At first I started the blog to enter a giveaway and not know what this whole blogging thing was about I just started posting my cards not really thinking anything of it, just a good way to organize my cards. Then people started following me so I thought I better actually put some effort into this. Reading other people's blogs help me to become a better blogger and I have found that it helps to relax me if I have had a stressful day.

8.What have you gotten out of blogging?

I have learned so many new techniques, new computer skills, how to take better pictures and most importantly I have made such great friends!!

9. What is greatest accomplishment?

Personally my daughter , but crafting wise being on a Design team and being a Guest Designer for a couple of blogs.

10. What do you want your live to look like in 5 years?

I would love to be remarried and have more kids, I never wanted my daughter to be an only child. Career wise I am not sure yet, probably start my own home daycare and maybe sell my crafts. If I am really dreaming I would love to open a dessert/craft store. Have a cute little shop set up were people (women) can come and eat dessert, buy my creations and learn a few new techniques. I would have to have a personality transplant for that to happen though as I a very quiet person in the real world. Most importantly I want God's plan for my life.

Ok now to pass it onto some other bloggers. I know it says to nominate 10-12 people but I am going to be a rule breaker (so not me in the real world I have never been to the principals office) but I have come up with 8 ladies to pass it onto. These ladies have ones that I email back and forth, ask questions to and they are super helpful and just plain ray of lights!!

Amy: Scrap This, Save That
Cheri: DJ's Sundries
Lisa: A Mermaid's Craft
Kate: Small Bits Of Paper
Jewel: Joy-N-Jesus
Amy: Love To Crop
Chriss: Scrappin' With Chriss and Lou
Kim: Just Wordz

Have a Great Day!

God Bless!

My Creative time : Designer's Challenge

Good Morning. Just a quick up date on the baby I was telling you all about. For the original post please click HERE. If all goes well she is coming home on Monday. They will be giving her more antibiotics and monitoring her for 24 hours and if all goes well she will be discharged. They are also still waiting for more test results from sick kids but they are pretty sure it was bacterial meningitis, they said that the high dose of antibiotics that she received when she was first brought to the hospital saved her life, thank goodness for a mother's intuition. Thank you for all your prayers!

Ok so onto the challenge, over at My Creative Time there is a challenge going on to make a decorative tag but not just any tag it must be at least 4x6 or larger. Tags are not something I make especially ones this big but I decided to take on the challenge.

What I Used:
My Creative Time : Just Simply Live/All Around Christmas
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Glossy Accents
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Fleur de lis
Martha Stewart Border Punch: Traditional Scallop
EK Success Corner Rounder
3 Girl JAM : Crinkle Ribbon Holly Berry
Hole Punch

I wanted it to be pretty simple and not too cluttered, I think it turned out pretty good for my first tag!! The challenge ends on November 6th so hurry and get those tags made.

Have a Great Weekend!

God Bless!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Good Afternoon! It's another challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ the verse is:

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Challenge: Time use clocks/watches, calendars, sundials etc. OR black and white only (to represent night and day)

I bought a stamp set from our local Home Sense a few months ago and hadn't used it yet. It has alot of flourishes and clocks on it so I decided it would be perfect for this challenge. I decided to make my own background with the clock and used a masking technique. I had a bunch of 1" circles sitting around that my little cupcake had punched out and they were perfect for masking the clocks so that I could stamp them in different colours.

What I Used:
Heidi Grace Designs: Only Time (clock)
Memento Ink: Rich Cocoa/Cottage Ivy/Rhubarb Stalk
Recollection Stamp Set (Dec.25)
EK Success Corner Rounder
1" Hole Punch
Jillibean Soup: Twine

I really like the look of making your own background and I think I am going to try this again. The challenge is over on Saturday November 3rd at 11:59p.m.

I want to leave you with one last thing.

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, Today is a Gift. What are you going to do with that Gift?

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!

Halloween Pictures

Good Afternoon! Can't believe the kids are sleeping after eating there cupcakes. Normally we would have done the cupcakes in the morning but my little cupcake had to be taken to the doctors because she wasn't feeling the greatest. We got back in time to do Halloween crafts, take more pictures and eat lunch. Her fever has broken but the doctor says it could be a long night (Croup). Anyways I thought I would post some pictures of the kids, cupcakes and pumpkin carving.

For the last week I haven't been able to see any of the blogs I follow unless I use google reader and then sometimes I don't see all those blogs! It's been very frustrating! Anyways I have a card that I made for a challenge but haven't had the time to post it (I have two more challenge items to post this coming week as well!). The challenge is over at Clearly iStamp "All Tied Up", use ribbon or twine.

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: PatchPal Reindeer
Memento ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It Markers
Pencils Crayons with Mineral Spirits
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
EK Success Corner Rounder

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: John 16:33

Good Morning! Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here in Ontario, Canada 19 C! After this though we are in for a whole week of rain and cooler weather. Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge up, the verse for it is:

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

Create a card that to you represents peace and calmness.

I would like to ask for prayer for a little 3 week old baby. I found out last weekend that the little boy we babysit sister was in the hospital, this precious little girl is only 3 weeks old. They don't know what is going on and are waiting for test results. The mom has said that they will be in the hospital at least another week and a half. Saturday night she had a fever of 104 and her heart rate went to dangerous levels, they finally got all the levels to normal and the baby in stable condition. As a mom I can't image what this family is going through. I am not sure if this family knows the Lord but as a Christian myself I know that there is power in prayer. I think that the above scripture is quite fitting for this situation and my card is inspired by this situation.

 What I used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Charlie Praying
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black, Lulu Lavender & Grape Jelly
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels eight
Spellbinders Border (not sure of the name as I made the border at the crop)
Ribbon
EK Success Corner Rounder

For me peace only comes from God and praying is one way that I find that peace. Even in a bad situation I can take heart and now that God knows the outcome and has what is best for me. God doesn't promise that live is going to be easy but promises that He will carry us through the bad times. My favourite poem of all times is Foot Prints in the Sand, it is a great reminder that when we go through things like sickness, financial trouble, relationship issues, divorce, lost of a loved one that God will carry us through those times and bring us out on the other side. God can't carry us if we are unwilling, have you ever tried to pick up a kicking screaming child it's not easy and usually you just put the child down until he or she has calmed down. We can be like that screaming kicking child wanting our own way or wanting to do things on our own and blaming God for our circumstances but much like a parent He is patience and waits until we have calmed down and realize that we truly do need Him to carry us through.

Please head over to the challenge and join in it. The deadline is October 27th at 11:59p.m

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!!

Card for Michael

Good Morning! A few weeks ago I post about Naomi from Creative Bug on the Loose who's son has to have surgery on his feet and she is asking that people send him cards as he will be hospitalized for 3 days. To read more about Michael click on the link above!! Here is my card for him, I will get it in the mail soon!

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Chuggin' Along
Whimsy Stamps: Love Mini Ticket/Mini Ticket Die
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Water/Paint Brush
Homemade Stamp-a-ma-jig
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Beep Beep
Distress Ink: Faded Jeans
EK Success Corner Rounder
Stickles: Diamond & Black Diamond

This was my first time using just water with the watercolour pencils to blend and I must admit it's not my best colouring job but it is very child like which I think works well for this card being it is going to a little boy! I used a masking technique for the train to get the ball and car in the caboose (am I calling it the right thing?!?!) Well I hope that this card puts a smile on Michael's face!!

Have a Great Weekend!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge: Psalm 52:10

Good Morning!! Well at least it will be if the rain they are calling for holds off so that we can take the kids to the park!! There is another challenge going on over at Stampin Sisters in Christ. The verse for the challenge is:

"But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever." Psalm 52:10

Challenge: Have an image (or die cut) of a tree on your card or project.

What better way to show His love then to send His son to die for us. That is why we celebrate Christmas and why I created a Christmas card for this challenge:

What I used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: PatchPal Reindeer
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Big Scalloped Oval SM
3 Girl JAM: Crinkle Ribbon: Mistletoe
EK Success Corner Rounder

This was my first time using the Bic Mark It Markers and I think next time I will heat emboss the image with black embossing powder so that the marker's don't bleed as the details are so small! If anyone has any suggestions on using these markers I would really appreciate it!! The challenge is opened until October 20 at 11:59p.m

Have A Great Day!

My Creative Time: Designers Challenge

Good Afternoon!! Well my mom and I stood outside Saturday morning in the cold for the grand opening of the new craft store in town. I bought some shiny paper and a paint brush to use for watercoloring but the prices were a little steep for me to buy anything else!! I think I will stick to my online shopping for craft supplies!! I did buy bic mark it markers from Walmart and used them on the weekend and really like them, I am waiting for my spectrum noir skin tone markers to come in the mail so that I can colour in images of people! Well there is another challenge going on over at My Creative Time " 3 homemade flowers, bling and yellow, blue and brown"

These colours are not ones I normally work with but I took on the challenge:

What I Used:
My Creative Time: Hello Spring
Memento Ink: Rich Cocoa
Spellbinders Shapeabilities: Flower Creations Three
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Baby's Breath
Flower Punch
Hot Glue Gun
Stickles: Golden Rod
Gems

I love the look of the flowers and they are so easy, four flowers punched out, pinch each petal down and layer them glueing each layer down and pressing the centre using a pointed end (a pen will work). Challenge ends on October 23.

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

On another note I know in an earlier post I mentioned the Stamp-a-ma-jig well I found a video on YouTube on how to make your own and if you have kids then this would be something that you would say "why didn't I think of that" large lego blocks! Of all things to use and so easy. HERE is the video!
Ok onto the 3 Girl JAM Challenge, this time around it was "Anything Goes"

What I Used:
My Creative Time: Hello Spring

My First Crop and A Card

Good Evening! Wow what a night last night, I went to my very first crop. Walking into this ladies house was crazy!! 4 huge rooms full of crafting supplies, anything and everything you could image! have looking around and getting over the shock I learned a few new tricks. one thing I learn was how to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig, really wish I had know how to use this along time ago. Check out the video to see what I am talking about (O and a lady at the crop said she made her own so I am going to try that and save myself some money). My mission last night was to make a card for the little girl my mom and I babysit because she became a big sister 11 days ago and we got her alittle gift so she wouldn't feel left out. We there was a cute image that I stamped and was just going to colour in at home with my watercolor pencils, but the copics were calling my name!! Big mistake I spent this afternoon looking up the best price for them...... however I think I will go with Promarkers as they are cheaper and from what I can tell give the same effect! Parting with this card today was really hard as it was my first time using the copics and I wanted to keep it:(

What I think I Used (LOL)
Close to My Heart: Little Princess Stamp set
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Copics
Spellbinders: Ovals and Lacey Oval Dies
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Textile
We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper: 1/2"
Ribbon
not sure which company's the sentiments came from but I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them spaced properly as one was a clear stamp and the other a wooden stamp.

I am for sure going back to this lady's house for another crop (November 6th to be exact lol). This time I know what she has and will make a list of what I want to do! If you have never been to a crop I really recommend it, not only do you get to craft but you get to meet with people and learn from them as well!!

Well I better get to bed as we have a busy day tomorrow, a 4 month old baby ontop of our regular kids, I get my baby fix in for the day!

Have A Great Night!

God Bless!
