The Glamorous Side Of Scrapping Challenge:Clean & Simple

Good Morning!! I thought this year I would start entering more challenges as a way to not only challenge myself but to help promote K Andrew Design Art Stamps. I came across Ashley's blog The Glamorous Side Of Scrapping and saw that she had a challenge making a Clean & Simple Valentines Day themed card. I thought perfect I just received my new Valentines Day stamps sets in the mail from K Andrew Design. Now came the tricky part "Clean and Simple". I have just started getting into making cards with more patterned paper so now I needed to revert back into my old ways of card making!! Here is my card for this challenge:

What I Used:
K Andrew Designs Art Stamps: It's Valentines and I Heart You
Memento Ink:Rhubarb Stalk and Tuxedo Black
Friskars Border bunch

K Andrew Designs

K Andrew Designs

Wow I think this is the shortest list of items that I have ever used!! It is a tiny card as well measuring at 2 3/4 x 3 1/4, weird size I know but I cut out the stamped heart and the border then made the card to fit those!!

I have 3 more valentines day themed cards that I have made with these stamps sets and I made them all in a couple hours. I will be sure to post them through out the week!!

Have A Great Day!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge:Fantasy Land

Good Morning! Today is another Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew. The theme is Fantasy Land, up to your own interpretation. Again this week I decided to go with the literal and made a card with a mermaid on it. I have seen lots of pocket cards and so I searched on Youtube and found a few but decided to use the same technique as I did with my bookmark, you can see that post HERE. I used a 6x6 piece of paper and did the same fold.

I added the corner piece to a 4x4 card that I had embossed the front using Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. the mermaid is cut from Once Upon A Princess Cartridge at 3". I used Stickles-Crystal on the top of the mermaid and the swirls. The face is from the PeachyKeen-Everyday Character Face Assortment using Memento ink:Tuxedo black. I then ink the hair using Color Box Chalk ink:Yellow Citrus. For the insert I took a piece of paper and inserted it into the pocket and then cut it so that it tucked away into it. I then took my Spellbinders Nestabilities:Label Eight and cut the smallest one out and cut it in half and added it to the back of the insert for a tab. Last but certainly not least I added my sentiment which can be found on the stamp set "Pirate Tales & Fish Scales" and "Food For Thought" By K Andrew Design using the Memento ink:Tuxedo Black.

Matching Card to my Little Treat Box

Good Morning!! So this year has brought on alot of change for me. In a few months I will officially be "single" again, I cut my hair short 2 weeks ago after growing it out for the last 1 1/2 years and now today I am getting highlight! I am nervous as I have chosen 3 colours to put in my hair and the last time I dyed my hair my daughter was just a baby!! I guess all the change was needed for me to start this new life of mine. Ok so onto my card. Monday I showed you the treat box that I made today I will show you the card that I made to match.

What I Used:
K Andrew Design Art Stamps : Food For Thought
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
Brad
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black

Food For Thought Buy HERE
This was a very simple card to make. I just cut out the two shapes using my cuttlebug and the die then laid them on top of each other and added the brad. I then layered the two smaller nestables and stamped the sentiment. Easy peasy!!

Have A Great Day!!

Little Treat Box

Good Morning!! Well the weather here in Canada is crazy, yesterday was freezing -13 C when I woke up and this morning it is +2 C going up to +7 C. If it weren't for the rain I would be taking the kids outside to get some much needed fresh air. Ok so I have been seeing alot of different shaped treat bags using just a plain old rectangular box and adding a different shape to the front and the back so I thought I would give it a try.

What I Used:
K Andrew Designs Art Stamps: Food For Thought "You Are...", "Love", "the Best!"
                                                 Winter Wishes "cute"
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Floral Fancy
Green Ink: Dollarstore
Memento Ink:tuxedo Black
Flower punch
Brads
Green Gem: Dollarstore

Food For Thought order HERE

Winter Wishes Order HERE

Ok so I used my two favourite colours for this project GREEN & PINK!! This would be a really cute party favour or wedding favour done in the wedding colours and it is super easy to put together!! Now in the magazine where I got the inspiration for this project they had made a set of cards and had them in it as a gift.

Please don't forget that there is still a Simply Sunday challenge going on right now over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew, you have until Saturday January 28th to link up your "Let It Snow" use embossing project.

Also you can still pre-order the new stamps sets from K Andrew Designs click on the link to see them.

Have A Great Day!!

For my project, I'm featuring the Food For Thought, Owly Hoo And Coffee & Tea Time Stamp Sets:

I cut the cupcake box out of the Sweet Tooth Box Project Cartridge at 8 1/2". I used the cherry from the Paisley Cartridge cut at 1.8". I added stickles "cotton candy" to the cherry to glam it up a bit. I glued ribbon onto the bottom of the box before I put it together. For the tag I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities die: Labels Eight and punched a hole in it and looped the crochette yard throught the top of the cupake box. I stamped the sentiment using the Food For Thought set (sweet) and the Owly Hoo (alisious). Now when I thought about making this box I wasn't sure what I wanted to put in it. While driving in the car it came to me, a mini album of my daughter!! So I cut 10 circles from the Paisley Cartridge at 4.5". I laid 5 of them down and used ribbon to attach them as straight as I could. I then placed the other 5 circles on top of the ones on the table to cover up the ribbon. I used the Sizzix Die: Circles 2 and cut my daughters pictures as well as the backgrounds for the cupcake stamp which I used Coffee & Tea Time for. I coloured in the cupcakes using Marvy Brush Markers and stamped the word Sweet under them using the Food for Thought set.

I had alot of fun making this Cupcake box and it would make a great gift for anyone.

Right now Kristal has a special on her stamps if you buy BOTH of the new Valentine's Day sest "It's Valentines" and "I Heart You" then you get the free Mini "Key to My heart" set or if you spent $25 or more in the store then you get a free mini as well.

Getting Cricky Pre-Hop Day 4

Good Morning!! I hope you are enjoying this week of projects so far. If you missed any of the other posts please go HERE and HERE. The other Design Team members and myself are all creating projects using just one of K Andrew Design Art Stamps of our choice. Today I did another card using the Food For Thought stamp set from K Andrew Designs.

What I Used:
K Andrew Design Art Stamps : Food For Thought
Give A Hoot Cart.: Squirrels cut at 2.2"
Memento Ink: Tuxedo black
Stickles: Xmas red
Heart was left over from the cupcake card I made on Monday
Ek Success Corner Rounder ( I also saved the pieces that were cut when rounding the corners, they are the little light pink pieces in the corners)

Food For Thought Buy HERE

This is a very simple card but when I was searching for an image for this sentiment I came across this and knew it was perfect. I had asked for help from my DT sisters and they all gave me really great suggestions the only problem was I didn't have any of the cartridges that they had suggested. My daughter loves feeding the squirrels in the back yard every morning with the daycare kids so I may just turn this card into a layout for her scrapbook!!

Kristal has a total of 5 new stamp releases that are up for pre-order, It's Valentines, I Heart You, All in the Family, All About Animals and Key To My Heart which is a mini. Key To My Heart you can get for free when you purchase the TWO Valentines Day sets or spent $25 or more in the store. To see pictures of the sets click HERE. But that's not all use the code "kristanfreeship" when checking out and you will get free shipping on your purchase!!

Hope to see you back tomorrow for Day 5 of the Pre-Hop. Please don't forget to stop my the other DT Members blogs to see what they have created. You can find the list of blogs HERE. Mark Friday January 20th at p.m EST on your calendars because that is when we are having the Getting Cricky Blog Hop "U R So Sweet".

I am also entering this into the Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #48 Squirrels

Have A Great Day

Getting Cricky Pre-Hop Project Day 3

Good Morning!! Today is Day 3 of the Pre-hop projects over at Getting Cricky With K Andrew. The hop will start on Friday January 20th at 9p.m EST "U R So Sweet". If you missed yesterdays post you can find it HERE. Today I decided to to turn an ordinary brown paper bag into a work of art.

What I used:
K Andrew Design Art Stamps: Food For Thought
Brown Lunch Bag
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Ribbon
Spellbinders Nestabilities Die: Labels Eight
Pink Ink: dollar store
We Are Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper:Scallop

Food For Thought Buy HERE

When I first saw the sentiment I wanted to use it in a different way then what first comes to mind. I could have made a card shaped like a sandwich but I wanted it to be different and then I thought what do you put your sandwich into for lunch? A paper bag!! I thought this would be really cute to send to school with your kids (mine isn't in school yet) or with your spouse to work ( don't have one of those YET) wow this sounds really sad:(  Anyways I will be able to keep this for when my daughter does go to school which is in 1 1/2 years. I wanted to give you other ways to use this sentiment and make you think outside the box.

But that's not all use the code "kristanfreeship" and you will get free shipping on your purchase!!
Please stop by all the other Design Teams blogs and see what they have made for today and also don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see what else I have come up with using this One Stamp Set!! If you can't see the inlink you can find a list of the other Design teams doing the week of pre-hop projects HERE.

Getting Cricky Pre-Hop Project Day 2

Good Morning!! If you didn't see my post from yesterday (tiss tiss, Just kidding), you are probably wondering what the title means. Well the Design Team over at Getting Cricky With K Andrew have each chosen a stamp set of Kristal's to show case for the week leading up to the Blog Hop on January 20th. I decided to go with one of Kristal's very first stamp sets that she released, Food For Thought. $1 from each set sold goes towards a charity called Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children. Kristal really researches the charities that she donates to and makes sure that the money is going to were it is suppose to go.

For my first project this week I decided to make a card:

What I Used:
K Andrew Design Art Stamps : Food For Thought
From My Kitchen Cart.: Cupcake cut at 22"
Birthday Cakes Cart. : Hearts cuts at .7"
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
Ribbon
Hole Punch
Stickles: Xmas Red
Score Board
Brown Ink
Pink Ink

Food For Thought Buy HERE

I scored the nestabilities in half and placed them on either side of my card stock and glued them down. I then took another piece of card stock (alittle bit bigger) and glued it to the back to cover up the back side of the card. I punched holes in the flaps and tied them with ribbon. I scored the wrapper of the cupcake and inked it. I added the stickles to the hearts to give them some glam!

Please don't forget to stop by each of the other Design Team members to see what they have made with there chosen sets.

Have A Great Day!!

P.S Don't forget to come back tomorrow, if you haven't seen it yet I have a Follow by Email at the top of my page so you will get all the posts sent right to your email!!
