My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge

Good Morning!! Wow this weekend went by way too fast. Hopeful the week does the same thing!! Ok so I created this card for My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge feature a frame. I went back to the very first cartridge that we ever owned (I say we because my mom is the one who bought the cricut and we split on the cartridge) this is going back 5 years ago. Here is my card:

What I Used:
Stretch Your Imagination: Frame cut at 2 1/2"
My Creative Time : Inspiring Words & Teeny Tag Greetings (die)
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : Your Friendship (flower)
3 Girl JAM : Crinkle Ribbon, Cherry Lipstick
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Brad

I love this flower, when I saw this stamp set I knew I wanted it. It comes with 1 flower in 3 different sizes, leaf and some sentiments. I stamped the smallest image on patterened paper twice and cut them out. I attached them with a brad and stamped the leaf on solid cardstock and cut it. I have another card that I will post later in the week using the same stamp but with a different technique.
Pop on over to My Creative Time to see how you can enter this challenge!

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Plus Two Others

Good Morning!! Looks like it is going to be warming up here in the next coming weeks. It's been horrible waking up to freezing cold weather and being stuck in the house with all the daycare kids and then by the time supper is ready it is nice outside. Anyways I have had time to make a few cards this weekend for some challenges. The first one is for 3 challenges, I used the following sketch:

What I Used:
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : Renewed Strength
Memento Ink: Tuxedo black
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Tim Holtz Embossing Folder: Rays
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink: Faded Jeans
Pop Dots
LePlume Pigmented Book Marker
We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper: Clouds
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Leapard Print
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Label Eight & Big Scalloped Circles Large
Buttons
Hot Glue Gun
3 Girl JAM: Crinkle Ribbon Ice Blue

To create the shadow of the eagle I stamped the eagel and colored it then cut it out. After I inked the paper and embossed it I then stamped the eagle on it. I colored that one black just around the edges and added the other eagle ontop of it slightly off a bit using pop dots.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

The Sweet Stop : Sketch

Cute Card Thursday : Challenge 214 "Animal Magic!"

C.R.A.F.T Challenge : 152 Animals

 Have A Great Day!!

TBBM2 Dress Box

Good Morning!! I have a few more challenges to enter this week and I used the Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 cartridge to make a dress form box. It was alot easier to make then I thought it would be.

The first challenge I am entering this into is Craft Your Passions Challenge: Photo Inspiration.

My Inspiration came from the girl (girly box) the flowers (flowers on the box), the crown and the cupcakes ( the sentiment "sweet princess")

What I used:
Tags Bags Boxes and More 2: Dress cut at 9"
EK Success Flower Punch
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black and Sweet Plum
Stickles: Crystal
My Creative Time : Teeny Tag Greetings

I really love how this turned out, at first I tryed using pearls on the waist but it didn't look right so I use one of the flowers that I had already made. I can't wait to try other boxes on this cartridge. This would be great as a wedding favour, bridal shower favour or a little girls party favour.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Exploring Cricut : It's A Box

Love to Create : Challenge 12 "Anything Goes"

Have A Great Day!!

Happy Bird-day Challenge Card

Good Morning!! I want to start this post off with a laugh. Last night I asked my daughter if she wanted to help me make something in the craft room, she said she wanted to make a card with a star fish on it. She walked into the room where my parents were and told them "I'm going to help mommy make something in the craft store" LOL to her it probably looks like a store. Anyways I just thought I would share that. So Sunday and Monday there was alot of challenges for Earth day so I made a card to fit 3 of those challenges. Plus another challenge. No star fish just a cute little owl!!

What I Used:
K Andrew Designs Art Stamps : Owly Hoo "owl background and sentiment"
                                                     Hooty Owl Accessories "hat"
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps: Owl Celebrations
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Ribbon: recyled from stamp set packaging
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
EK Success Corner Rounder
Paper was from my stash

Ok I am entering this into the following challenges:

Getting Cricky : Simply Sunday Challenge: Give A Hoot
Made Especially For You : Use recyled material
Sentimental Sundays : Challenge 99 "Celebrating Earth Day"
Paper PlayTime : Challenge 72 "Say It With Sentiments Theme: Birthday Cards"

P.S We ended up getting some snow but only enough to make the roofs look white. Nothing on the ground!!
Have A Great Day!!

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

Good Morning!! So after looking at the weather network last night before going to bed, I woke up expecting to see alot of snow (5-10 cm) but to my surprise and relieve the grass is still green!! Hopefully it passes over us and we don't get dumped on today. Ok so I made this card last week for this challenge but i haven't had the chance to post it. I was super busy yesterday cleaning out my craft room. Yes cleaning it out. I got rid of plastic bags, cricut cartridge plastic and card board boxes. I also rearranged my ribbon and some of my shelving. We will see how long it stays clean for LOL!! Ok so onto my card. I followed a sketch from The Sweet Stop here is what it looks like

What I Used:
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : January Carnation
My Creative Time: So Grateful For You
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Sizzix Die: Circles 2
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Cuttlebug Folder: Roses
Pop Dots
Ribbon
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Frayed Burlap
EK Success Corner Rounder
Pearls: Dollarstore

For this card I decided to try a new technique that I have been seeing around blog land. I stamped the image twice on white cardsock and colored both in. I then cut one of the images out and poped it up with pop dots on top of the other image. I love how this turned out.

Have A Great Day!!

You COLOR My World

Good Morning!! It is a chilly one here this morning. Feels like winter all over again. I can't believe they are calling for snow on Monday and Tuesday!! The only time I remember snow in April is when my daughter was 11 months old. My dad built a snowman outside for her and we took pictures. We are suppose to be singing "rain rain go away" not "snow snow go away"
Ok so onto my card.

What I used:
Pink By Design : Simply Everything
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
Flower Punch
Stickles: Crystal
Ek Success Corner Rounder

These are the same kind of flowers as I had on my box from yesterday. I wanted to make it a very clean and simple card.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

That's What Faith Can Do

Hello Again!! Well I guess if you read my post below it is Hello again if not Good Morning!! My card for today is for a couple different challenges.

Little Scrap Pieces : Use Purple and or Pink

Made Especially For You : Use Three Flowers

What I Used:
Scrappy Moms Samps: Designers Choice (inside sentiment)
Scrappy Cat Stamp: butterfly
Studio G Stamp: Faith
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black and Lilac Posies
Martha Stewart Border Punch: Doily Lace
Hole Punch
Ribbon
Flowers: From Michaels mailed to me from Jessie former DT Sister
Brads

For the lacy border I used a hole punch so that I could weave ribbon through it. I really love how this card turned out. It reminds me of one of my favourite songs called "That's What Faith Can Do" by Kutless

Please what the video, especially if you are going through a rough patch. Like the inside of my card says : "God won't bring you to it if He can't get you through it."

Have A Great Day!!

First Box Using TTBM2

Good Morning!! Well after about 5 hours sleep I am wide awake. Guess I should have went to bed earlier then 12a.m. For some reason my daughter woke up before 5a.m and then at about 5:45a.m she started crying. I asked her several times what was wrong and then she finally responded "someone took my Dora picture off the wall". I looked at the wall and it was still there. I said "did you have a dream" she nodded her head. O boy who knew dreams started this young. Anyways as my daughter is laying in bed watching TV I thought I would get these posts up, yes these as in two. I looked at my note book and I have some challenges that I need to post my projects for as they are due tomorrow.
I was so excited that Michael's had there cartridges on sale a couple weeks ago 44.99 so I bought the TTBM2 and then the next week they went on sale for 39.99. I took in my receipt and got the difference back. I just received my scoring tip in the mail that I ordered from Ginger Snap Scraps . Talk about fast service I ordered it last Thursday she shipped it out that same day and I received it this Thursday. Considering I live in Canada where it usually takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks or more to get anything from the US. I was super impressed. The Lady that runs it is super nice and helpful as well. Thanks Cori!! If you haven't checked it out head over to the link above. She carries paper, stamps, ribbon, cricut stuff, nestabilies just to name a few.

Ok on to my box. I started out with something simple and this was actually just a test box but I decided to jazz it up a bit for the Craft Your Passion Challenges Blog. The challenge this week was Punches & Die Cuts (use at least one punch or die cut on your project). Well for mine I used both.

What I Used:
TTBM2: Page 24 cut at 6"
A Flower Punch (I will explain below)
My Creative Time : Teeny Tags Greetings
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Red Ribbon

O so for the flowers I came across this blog Scraps2Treasure and was so happy to see that she used a punch that I own. Well it is my moms from along time ago. I looked through her picture tutorial and then went into my craft room to do the same thing. Well I did things alittle different (accidentally). My memory seems to be that of an 80 year olds most days. She used white flowers and inked them, I used colored paper instead. She also curled the petals using a tooth pick, for me I pinched them with my fingers and then layered them off centred and pressed down on each layer with a paint brush. Mine don't look anything like hers but I wanted to give her credit because it is where I got the idea from. I have loved making them so much that I have made about 15 of them in all different colours. They take not even 2 minutes to make and are so easy.
Anyways I better wrap this post up so I can type up the other one for today!

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

Proud Mommy Moment

Good Morning!! With all this rain we have been getting, we have had to come up with some crafts for the daycare kids to do. Last week we had the two older girls (3 and 4) color a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of white paper and then I used my score board to score the paper and then folded it to make a fan. Well my daughter (the 3 year old) is very observant and that night colored another piece of paper and started folding the paper all by herself, no score board. Here is the picture of one of the fans she made without any help.

I am so proud of her!!! I love that she has taken an interest in arts and crafts. Hopefully I will beable to post more of her art in the near future!

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

Another Day, Another Card, A Few More Challenges

Good Morning!! Well it's another early morning for me as it was my morning to get up early for the one little girl that gets dropped off at 6:30a.m so it makes for a long day!! Thank goodness this is the last week of that shift, her mom started a new job within the hospital so her shifts start later!!
Ok so here is my card for today. I followed a sketch from Sassy Studio Designs

 What I Used:

Hampton Art Stamps (they are foot long no names on the sets)
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Martha Stewart Border Punch: Doily Lace
EK Success Corner Rounder
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils

Ok I am not too sure if I have mentioned this or not but my blog name is named after my daughters nickname "BabyCakes". To me babycakes is another word for Cupcakes ( a smaller version of a cake). When I found these two stamp sets at Michaels I knew I had to have them (one was all about baby's "BabyCakes" is on that set. The other is everything cupcakes, the cupcakes came from that one). Just a little background info on my blog title and the meaning behind this card.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Sassy Studio Designs: Challenge #120 Sketch

Crafting When We Can: Just the Two Of Us (use two images on your card)

Card Makin Mamas: Getting Girlie

The Sweet Shop, 4 Crafty Chics and DL. ART Challenges

Good Morning!! So sad that the weekend is almost over (it went by way too fast). I got alot done yesterday, 3 cards and started my daughters birthday invitations (Purple Princess Party). I will post those as soon as they are done, just need to buy some ribbon for them. Anyways today I am posting a card for 3 challenges (I like to combine as many challenges into one card, saves me time and it gives me more of a challenge). I followed a Sketch from The Sweet Shop. Here is what it looks like:

What I Used:
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps : Helping Hand
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
3 Girl JAM: Crinkle Ribbon Witch's Brew
Marvy Uchida Quick Border Punch: Heart Scallop
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Big Scallop Circles Large
EK Success Corner Rounder
Felt and Button (Dollar Store)

Ok when I first received my stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy (I ordered the grab bag) I was alittle unsure about the image on this card. I am just getting into coloring so this image intimidated me alittle. I like how it turned out and it stamps amazingly. I was worried with all the little lines that it would not stamp fully but it did very clean and crisp. I am so impressed with their stamps and Korin is so fast at responding to emails that I ordered another Grab bag (Can't wait to get them in the mail).

So I am entering this into the following challenges:

The Sweet Shop: Sketch

4 Crafty Chicks : Challenge 85: Material Girl (I used Felt)

DL.ART : Challenge Thank you Cards

Have A Great Rest Of the Day!!

I will be back tomorrow with another card for a couple more challenges!!

I'm Back!!!! 1 Card 3 Challenges

Good Morning!!  For the past 4 days I have had no internetL Before I lost my internet connection I had written up a list of challenges I wanted to enter. Today’s card is being entered into 3 different challenges. But before I get to that I need to tell you something else. If you have been over to Getting Cricky With K Andrew you may already know this but I am no longer on the DT. I choice not to reapply due to work. My mom and I took on two more daycare kids so my craft room now has a playpen in it. I didn’t feel that it was fair to be on the team if I couldn’t give 100%. Congrats to those who are the new design team!! These past few days I have had a lot of time for crafting because the times in the morning or night that I usually was online I was crafting!!

Ok so for today’s card I followed a sketch from The Sweet Stop Blog . Here it is

What I Used:

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp Sets: Bethany’s Birthday Wish “bunny"

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp Set: Sweet Gretchen “flower” and sentiment

Cuttlebug Folder: Floral Fantasy

Sizzix Die: Circles 2

Memnto Ink: Tuxedo Black

Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink: Alabaster

Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils and Colorless Blender

I am also entering this into Carson's Creations challenge. She recently had a hop for different embossing techniques and asked that we link up a card using an embossing technique. The embossing technique that I used on this card is dry embossing and then taking ink and inking the raised image to make it stand out more.

The last challenge I am entering this into is Little Scrap Pieces Blog . This one is different we were asked to link up a project using one of our favourite crafting supplies and then explain why it is our favourite. Well for me I could have linked up any card or layout as I use my favourite supply with every paper craft I do. It is my ATG. When I first got it I found it a little tough to open the lid to refill it but after a few tries it is so simple to use.

Ok that is it for this post I have 2 more projects that I made for challenges so I better get typing those posts up.

Have a Great Day!!

God Bless!

Kristan
